On top of everything

It's Friday today! I made chicken salad and packed for the weekend. I am armed with my favourite purple pillow and sleeping bag, with togs and clothes for change. Richard and I are going down to Kinloch for Alan's 60th birthday. Mum suggested that I make chicken salad. I don't think that I am able to cut the vegetables into thin enough strips, but I guess this is a good first attempt. I will add the sauce when I get to the destination to prevent the salad go bad. Almost hit Scraggles driving to Richard's place. He didn't even pack anything for the weekend! I can't believe it. I spent so much time preparing for the weekend, I had to go shopping for food, cut all the vegetables and wait for chicken breast to boil. It was a bit boring to say the least. Well, I enjoyed shopping with mum because we got enough food for $50 so we got a 12 cents off petrol voucher. Yay!
Richard found my pink hat so I can wear it and walk outside under the sun. That's a proper hat for summer, and I really like the hat. I don't care what other people say or think, it's good for my skin.
Mum gave me a really small spaghetti and Richard doesn't want me to go to Griller with him so I went to the cafeteria for some extra food. I got a ham and egg roll, and it comes with free hot drink! I got hot chocolate. Still, it will be good if he brings me some food but it doesn't look like it's ever going to happen.
Clouds are gathering in the sky. I wonder whether it will rain or not. We need some decent sprinkling. Jenny is not here because her daughter is sick, Ken is not here because his daughter is here from the U.K., and Chris is off to get his surgery on the face. There's only Frank and me here today. It's weird.
Wondering what Fuzzy is doing, hopefully she has finished her report and will hand it in today. It's her second placement, and I think it's a good opportunity for her to get useful experience in the real world.

Jumper

Experiments are going well this week. However, I won't know the results until tomorrow about whether it worked or not. I had a good indication that the experiment might have worked yesterday. Chris is having an operation on his face to remove a tumour. The doctor will make a flower-like incision to take out all the bad cells. He will have to wear a better hat in the future. Jenny suggested a "cappy", and I think he will be well protected from the sun with a cricketer's hat. Thinking about hats, I have lost my pink hat! Is it in Richard's room? I am not sure. I really like that hat and will want it back on my head, where it belongs.
Richard and I hadn't been out to the movies for a while so we went to see Jumper yesterday. The reviews for it wasn't good, but it's not as bad as we thought. It's a movie that makes you think what you will do if you can go anywhere you want. It is as if you have the world in your hand.
I like Hayden Christianson's portrayal of David, the awkard teenager/adult that's out of place, not quite comfortable in his own skin. Rachel Bilson wasn't very good, I actually like the younger Lillie more. She's more likeable. Jamie Bell's lone survivor/jumper is also cool, and I like the car scene when he moved the car through traffic.
It's a travel movie that takes you to Rome, London, Tokyo, Cairo and even Bosnia in the war zone. You can see the inside of the Colosseum. I didn't even see that when I went to Europe!
I had too much dinner, but I love Nasi Goreng/fried rice. It's tasty. Mum's tomatoes have been forgotten in the car for two days in a row, I should put it into Richard's fridge.
What's the big plan for my life? I am a bit reluctant to think about the future and I know it's going to be a bit ugly come August. What am I going to do? There are several options and at this stage I will keep my head down and work hard. Looking on the bright side, if I do lose my job, I may have some time for myself, a holiday, perhaps?

Busy week busy weekend

It's been a while since I last blogged, and it's great that Richard is starting to blog as well. However, blogging is very serious to him and I don't think he will be writing a diary like me.
Jeffery's housewarming and John's farewell are both in this weekend and I felt a bit partied out in John's party. Jeffery put on a delicious BBQ with great kebabs and salads from his own garden. We played ping-pong together and sang kareoke in his new house. It's a huge eco house with solar panels to heat hot water and wastewater is used to irrigate the garden. Dad always put other people's house down, and I felt a little angry about him lately. He said that Jeffery's family has been duped by the agents into buying sections and believe that they can make a lot of money subdividing in the future. I think he's just sour that other people can live on a lifestyle block! Why can't he just be happy about what he has and what other people have? He's is far too critical. I didn't talk to anybody I didn't know in John's party, and I didn't make an effort to meet his friends. I only know one guy is Carla Bond-Smith's younger brother, but I didn't even know him.
Richard and I spent time walking in Minogue Park yesterday in the afternoon. We watched kids riding bikes up and down the obstacle course, one of them flying high. He's the best! We explored the woods and vowed to come back one day, armed with picnic blanket.
I wanted to watch 10 things I hate about you, but it was just not meant to be. I have been too busy to blog at work, which is great.
Richard's dad's birthday party is next week. He's going to pitch in for his new GPS device. I am not sure what to get him. It's difficult.
