Nami lunch

I am anticipating Monday to come right now. Kelly, Erik, and Yasu are coming back to work. Erik and Ai are starting new experiments. I am going to do new experiments, too. Our lab is going to be noisy again.
I continued the Western blot from yesterday, and did the control experiment today. However, the result didn't come out of the developer so I had to scan the result next week. I got exposures already, but they weren't very good. I hope that Alex can get the picture out for me.
The weather is glorious today. Leanne, Monica, Ai and I went to town for lunch. We went to Nami restraunt on Hood Street. We all had lunchbox there. It was so delicious! The miso soup was just right, with seaweed and spring onions. I love the sushi and sushi with salmon. We talked about Yasu's future, Erik's future, and about Leanne's life in Wellsford. She said that she used to live with Brett, her man's cousins in Wellsford because her mum was ill when she was young. She didn't know that they are Brett's cousins. What a small world! We also talked about the cocktail evening. Leanne sent her red dress to the alteration shop in town to take up. It will be easier for her to dance. It's such a pretty dress! I am looking forward to the cocktail evening.
Miel said that he will go because he got a new suit in Bali. He showed me his pictures. Seb was so happy in his wetsuit by the pool. They went with Hayley's family. Miel went fishing on a nice little boat. His holiday must had been relaxing.
I am looking forward to the end of July. Mum's birthday and my housewarming party is coming up. I don't think it will be a big party, but it certainly will be fun!

Sick

With two sets of experiments to run, I was quite busy today. I continue to purify protein and put primary and secondary antibodies onto the membranes. The weather is so good today that you can be tricked into thinking that spring is already here.
The experiments went okay, but my body went downhill after lunch. I went to the Warehouse to buy essentials and Panadols, feeling real bad after driving back to work. I tried to work in the afternoon, but it didn't go very well. I ended up throwing up all my lunch on myself and the lab floor. It was not pretty. However, Ai asked me to text Erik and he replied eventually. He's still alive! I had to call dad to pick me up and the drive home was excruciatingly long.
I lied on my bed and fell asleep after a while. Finally managed to finish drinking mum's lemon tea after one hour of sleep. I felt normal when I was having dinner, but still a little bit queasy.
Just got Ai's texts. I think I will go to work tomorrow, just have to be careful what I eat now.

Let's pray that it will get better soon

The petrol tank is almost empty. Erik is not coming to work for a whole week for his back injury. We are still working hard in the lab over here. It rained last night, saturating the ground even more.
Fuzzyslowmo didn't discover that mum put peanut butter on her toast, so she put the peanut butter on the second one. She had to give mum the first piece. I dropped her off at Hillcrest Road university entrance today. Erik had already gotten to work to tell Carole that he's not coming to work for the rest of the week. I think I will go to the supermarket to buy some food to make him a sandwich at his place after work today. I will have to fill up my petrol tank as well.
Nothing much is happening at work even though I helped Ai and will be centrifuging today. The lab is still very quiet. I brought mum's recipes to work for Miel. He's enjoying reading the two volumes.
I hope that Japanese people will recover from the earthquake. It's quite serious. My friend Ai just got the news about the earthquake. Some Northland residents haven't got their power back on yet, and people in Hawke's Bay haven't been lucky, either. There's simply too much rain everywhere. The storm had hit the regions that are already saturated with water. We need some sunshine over here! We also need a break from the rain, frost, and general bad weather. Just hope that spring will turn up in time so we can recover from the harsh winter soon.
Fortunately, I haven't lost my mind and have all my wits together with me. Listening to Elva's Red Roses CD right now. She makes me feel happy.
I went grocery shopping and filled up petrol after work. Ai suggested that I make dinner for Erik tonight, but when I got to his place, he wasn't there. I hope he was getting dinner or drove back to Whangarei so his mum can take care of him. Poor Erik! I hope he gets better.
We had chicken soup tonight. It was so yummy! I am looking forward to some good days ahead because they should come after all the bad things that happened this week. Life, as I know it, comes with many dissapoints and occasional satisfication.
