Thursday, Friday and weekend

Thursday
I have been very busy at work today. Counted stacks of plates with golden bugs on them. Very interesting. Not many kill so experiment actually failed. Should of course redo this to confirm the results next week.
However, after drawing a picture, I discover that it worked on one bug, and didn't work on the other. Interesting.
Workmate is fishing and having fun, but we have to continue work until the weekend comes. >_<
Lunch with Pat at university. Weather is great and a lot of people come for the International O Week. O Week is a noun that describes the Orientation Week for university students in New Zealand. Waikato has the O Week from next week, but apparently, the international students get O Week one week earlier. Some students are coming to uni to do enrolment in person.
Get the 2005 Student Diary. It's green! The design is superb. I will leave it on my work desk.
Eat a green vegetable chicken wrap. Very delicious. Go back to work and draw the graph aforementioned.
Friday
Only want to work in the morning. Have already carried out another experiment on ozone + liquid. But Indigo is not working. Will probably make new solution next week and run again.
Want to go to university and do my "flirting" for this week. But am feeling not up to it right now. I think my astrology prediction is just wrong. I am not really into flirting this week. Haha.
Students will go back to university next week, but tomorrow, university is putting up a free concert in the Ground.
The Ground here means the university ground, a very large piece of grassland on one side of the university where you can drive around for 5 minutes.
Anyway, I will just leave this place for now and start my 2.5 day weekend.
Even mum is having fun. Mr. L is back and they are taking pictures in Hamilton Gardens, where the Indian Garden just opened. Haha. And dad is fishing somewhere in Raglan.

Picnic and another busy day

Picnic at the end of River Walk is great. We fried eggs, bacon, and made a big salad. Of course we didn't finish the food. Walked home and talked for a while. Borrowed 2046's music CD, thought it was the movie! But apparently it was not, just some stuff about the music CD and how the music was made. Interesting. Looking forward to watching this movie.
Friend said she once traveled from Singapore to China without getting the proper documentation, so she had to take the same flight back from China, then wait for a long time for a flight to Hong Kong, get the documentation, then go to China. The way she tell the story made it so funny! Also, she forgot to write the address on her letter sent from Paris. It had a stamp, the post office's mark from The Louvre, but it didn't have any address! Another classic no-brainer story was that her workmate slept through her presentation, and she couldn't stop laughing. She had to struggle not to laugh out loud, and her superior would take displine action because someone slept through the presentation. Hahahahahahaha. I can't wait to graduate and do some of these silly things myself.
Can't believe how busy I am today. Grow bacteria in the morning, read a little and mark the plates. Have BBQ in the afternoon with the Red trial people. Drop plate. Now will go back to the lab and carry out the second part of the experiment.
Dad's car is being fixed (correcting time belt) and will probably be out of action for the rest of the day. I suppose mum, dad and fuzzy would be holed up at home now. Tried talking to fuzzy on net, but she didn't reply. Weird. Maybe internet is down again. Wouldn't surprise me.

Hi

I have never used this before. To be on the safe side, I will just say hi.

Stamps

Interesting way of blogging. I hope this will make my blogging career easier.

Still trying to find $2 stamps. I may just go to the lab and make up these solutions then go out to buy some stamps. Anyway, wish this works. ^_^

Two experiments and a picnic

It's amazing. I have already ran two experiments this morning and will probably make up some solutions this afternoon so I can do more tomorrow morning. The results so far are logical.
Fuzzy went to have her monthly check up. She is her usual happy self. I took her to her Post Office meeting after luncheon at home. Suspects that the front right wheel has trouble but dad said it is o.k. I hope it is because I am driving to Flagstaff then coming back south to Hamilton Gardens to have a picnic with my friends. I don't want to have any car trouble today.
Apparently, still haven't got the envelope for friend's reference. She is getting a real estate agent licence. Cool. Need to get my acts together and quickly post this reference out. Try to write some comments about her character, wish the result is sufficient. I am sure she will get the license. I reckon it's the selling that's hard.
Going to send Alice her birthday card and present today. Hopefully there is enough stamp. Her birthday is on 7 March.
We will be able to check out the new Indian garden. Hope the weather will hold tonight. It's going to 7 degree C! Oh so cold. I can't believe that summer is nearly over. I hope it is longer so I don't have to take out my sweater.

Metropolis

Meet two friends and drink coffee with sister last night at Metropolis. A minimal design using black and white checker tiles on the floor gives Metropolis a clean feeling. The art displayed on the wall are not too much, yet make enough impact to people who want to relax and have coffee in the early afternoon and in the late nights.
Purple skirt told a sad story about a young girl whose bike crashed and got injured badly. Her family had come from China to see her for the last time. It's not easy for parents to send their kids to heaven.
She also related to us how her real estate agent life is going. Before getting her license, she can't sell a house, but she is starting to look at houses and get to know them. I am sure she will become very busy once she has the license. She also said that she will not be doing auctions just yet. She needs to obtain an auction license before setting up auctions.
Doctor said that she is going to change from General medicine to Respiratory medicine this week. So exciting! Haha. I think she is very busy.
See chemistry teacher from high school. He has 6 kids now! Wow. I think it is not easy to bring up 6 kids. Good on you. I think he is a nice family man. Update on the Swiss Army Knife. It's gone missing again, but he has used it for many years now. (From 99 to 04, that's a long time!)
Good to see friends new and old. I suppose everyone is busy working but it's always good to catch up over a cup of coffee and a plate of sorbet.

Forever is measurable

Continue repeating the experiments that I have done and will carry out the salt and sorbitol experiments this week to complete this block of experiments. Have made up the solution to use for tomorrow.
Trying to forget about my schoolmate without too much success. He is just not interested. However, got the information about him being in university so maybe should go have tea there this week. See what he will do or will not do there. But I have done all I can. The ball is in his park. If he doesn't want to do anything then it's his loss.
Very busy today. Take mum and sister to lunch then home after they watch The House of Flying Daggers.
Dad was scratching the outside of the house yesterday morning, but today he has to fish. Great! We have our peace of a day/evening. Maybe men are just too annoy so why do I keep asking this guy out? Maybe he is bad news, too. Haha.
The Academy Award is handed out in Hollywood, Los Angeles today/night. Will watch it around 10:30p.m. this evening after ER and Nip/Tuck. Cool. At least there's something that's more "tangible" than a guy who will not return your e-mail or your call!!!! I can't believe that he is even more elusive than the little gold man! Ha.
