Love him or love work

Friday is always a great day to complete everything. This week is almost over! You can hear about Valentine's Day on the radio, in the shops, on TV, and even when you are driving, you can't escape from it! I am a bit tired of all the pink and red decoration, even though I haven't given up on my idealism and romantic notion.
I have been told that I am similar to Charlotte in Sex and the City. She is also my favourite character! I probably identify with her the most because she is so prim and proper, wanting to land a husband and have a family.
The four of us went to Go Vino on Vicky Street after work. I went to Burger Fuel to get dinner, though. I couldn't find the others and was walking up and down four times. Hahahaha! So silly. There must be something wrong with my eyes.
Back up the day a bit. I went to work early to help Erik again on Friday, would like to finish early because weekend is coming up. However, he was not there around seven and I discovered that we forgot to grab the broths. We had to walk all the way down to wash-up (thank God it wasn't completely locked) and carried the buckets up the stairs, then start the experiment.
It is going very well, apart from Erik putting the wrong labels on the solutions.....It's not his fault. I could have made those solutions myself. He seems to be disappearing into thin air today for some reason. Get away from hard physical labour? Or is it just because it is Friday? I hope he is having fun here. Apparently, he is having so much fun he wants to work after his placement finishes. I will have the chance to see him a little bit longer, then. It's those precious minutes just before anyone turns up for work that I treasure. Being there is everything. I care. I don't know whether I care more about work or about this guy. Maybe both in equal amounts.
Anchi ran the gel on Friday and I went in on Saturday to see how pure/impure the proteins are.
They look ok. Two of them needs more work. We have two more batches coming up as well.
Anyway, I will not reveal the details here.
I went to swim in the company pool after 3 as well. The temperature was just right and didn't get too hot. The facility was old, but it's got everything! Showers, seats, kiddie's pool and nice wooden drawers to put your dry clothing in. Cool, huh? I will tell my friends.
Better go do something other than blogging. Get on with my Saturday ritual.

Number 8

I have lost quite a lot of weight, so I had to take my trousers and skirts in. They were size 14, 13, 12, and 10. My size is now 8. I had to sew one pair of jeans after lunch. It was difficult in the beginning, but later it became quite easy. I am happy that I lost the flesh around my tummy, but skirts and trousers falling down my waist are no laughing matter. Lately, I have been wearing belts trying to hold them up. I look ridiculous.
However, I can't fix those size 14 easily. Just have to wait for fuzzyslowmo to come back to use the sewing machine. Looks like I will have to take them in quite a lot. I also managed to sew one button for a new pair of pants, that is size 8. So it is good as new!
I know a lot of girls are losing weight out there. I don't think it is a good thing to eat vegetables or nothing at all. It is not healthy. My secret is to eat 70% of everything, including red meat like beef and lamb. I also eat rice and bread. No drastic dieting for me because it doesn't work long term. I find it easy to keep walking in winter, swimming in summer. I have worked a lot on my waist by doing sit-ups. In the beginning, I had trouble just doing 20 sit-ups, then I can do 50 now. I could do 100 sit-ups in one time, but got quite tired.
Losing weight is great! I like my new body. I will keep exercising.
Haha, getting back to the subject of eating and food, I went to the supermarket with mum. We spent a lot of money buying food. Watermelon, pineapple, mushroom, and even a blueberry muffin! I had half of the muffin this morning. So yummy! I love shopping and cooking food. Who will believe that I can lose weight, eh?
Waitangi Day today. Going back to work tomorrow and looking forward to complete my project once again. It is going so well that I think it may be completed at the end of this week or early next week. I can get back to other project now.
Great summer day. I am staying home tidying up my wardrobe. Probably swim tomorrow because I got the new pool key.

Irresistable week

I haven't posted any blog for a while. Sorry I have been ignoring this blog. Just feel like to write in Wretch and MSN space blogs.
What had happened in my life? Actually, I must start from last weekend.
I went to Auckland and Waiheke Island for three days. Jean and I stayed in Auckland Central Backpackers. That building is evil! You can't get to the second floor via the elevator. I don't understand why they don't improve the elevator. I had so much trouble remembering how to use the magnetic key to get to the right level and spent nearly ten minutes in the elevator with Jean once. So scary!
We went up to Auckland in Leanne's car. She is very good at driving. We talked about cars, insurance and relationship in general. Jean is married to a nice cook. I am single. Leanne is going out with her man. By the time we got to Auckland, the traffic is getting worse. She dropped us off somewhere close to Queen St. We walked to the backpackers in five minutes.
Auckland city centre is rather dirty, like all cities in the world. It has a good transport system, with train, ferry and bus station close to Britomart. We walked to the water front the first evening. The French navy ship was the first attraction. Te Kaha was also there in her full glory. We took numerous pictures of Sky Tower. Sitting in Loaded Hog, with my French bubbles, life doesn't get much better than this holiday. That evening we ate in a Thai restruant, had duck. It was quite hot, but not hot enough. Nearly all the spice went into the coconut milk. I had rice with it so my stomach was full.
We went "home" to sleep late. People started to get rowdy around ten o'clock. I had seen many skinny girls, wearing stilletos and nice dresses on the water front. Guys also went all the way to dress up in Auckland. After all, you went out for fun in the evening so everybody dressed up.
We planned the second day well. Jean and I took Fullers ferry to Waiheke Island in the morning. We managed to get there one hour before the tour starts. It was muggy and hot there. I didn't bring my togs with me: the sun was poisonous. The bus tour was great, with scenery all around the island. There are 8000 permanent residents on Waiheke, and the length is 23 km. There are also million dollar land and mansions sold recently. Vineyards, sculptures, unpublished novelists, painters, musicians are aplenty on the island. You can feel the atmosphere is different there. You can sense the Pacific island in the water. I loved the place, didn't want to leave. Jean and I picked a restraunt right in front of Onetangi Beach. We had snapper together. It was pickled (raw?), tasted so good and different to Chinese fish. The bread and salad were also delicous.
We took the afternoon ferry back, saw Bic Ronga lining up with us mere mortals on the harbour. The third day we took the Link bus around Auckland city. Victoria Park, Ponsonby and Newmarket in one day. Jean bought her husband a red shirt with fish hook pattern in Victoria Park. I had my fortune told by a Chinese/Tibetan girl in a Tibetan shop. Knowing that I will have two sons in the future is particularly disturbing. I didn't really want to know that. Also, two marriages coming up. I can't even manage to find one boyfriend!
Ponsonby was great. I bought a book, The Dream Merchant from Dymocks on sale. Cezane coffee shop served nice Mexico lunch, however, it was still not hot enough for me. After Little India in Hamilton, I don't think anything is hot enough. We looked at expensive clothes in Newmarket shops. I still managed to buy a $10 Thai sarong in Fushia though. Bargain.
Jean and I took the Intercity bus back from Skycity transport centre. We took many pictures: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dopamine245/album?.dir=/4ce0re2
This following week I had early mornings working with Erik, Niharika, and Anchi. Our bosses were on holiday, big boss was there. He gave us lectures at the end of the day.
Getting up before six o'clock proved to get easier at the week progressed. I looked forward to see Erik every morning. Just felt like going to sleep at three o'clock in the afternoon. Strange.
I didn't feel tired in the morning anymore.
Seeding early in the morning was a great idea, we also used two centrifuges at the same time. Erik's green eyes and blonde/brown lashes made everything looked easier and better, having him to help make this protein was perfect. He didn't know that one day when he streched his upper torso, I could see his tummy! Oh my God. He should be shot by being irresistable and sexy.
Apart from watching hot guys doing physical labour, we managed to induce, extract and purify heaps of protein. We may just need to do this for another week and our factory can be closed. The girls were also working hard this week. Niharika was writing her report. I would go to work again on Wednesday. Taking my four day break after working very hard for a week.
I cooked spaghetti on Friday for them. They also loved Sara Lee cake that I bought from Pak'n Save. Work, as I know it, couldn't get any better than this. Just hope Erik doesn't know that he accidentally showed some skin.
All quiet at home. I managed to write 22 pages of Zoospy this time. Ya! I can see myself completing this novel.
