Flightplan and million dollar baby

I tried to work very hard in the morning and send the finished product to my yahoo mailbox for the afternoon. Drive up to the movie theatre and catch Flightplan even though I know that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be on tomorrow. Just can't help it: feeling very restless.
Flightplan is a very weird film. It has strang plotline: you don't know what is happening until the end. I don't understand why that someone will go to this extraordinary length to blow up an airplane. He had to kill the husband, kidnapped the daughter with the danger of being seen by other passenger, and bring the explosive in the coffin of the husband. However, the movie creates a scary atmosphere. I keep thinking that the Captain will help the woman more, but he didn't.
Million Dollar Baby is also a different movie with unexpected ending. Maggie Fitzgerald is out to do the impossible. The most important thing is to protect yourself. The last part of the film is quite sad.
The weather continues to be unseasonal today. It is very cloudy and threatens to rain. Where is the sun? It is supposed to be sunny and warm! For some reason, my back hurts.

Movie: My sons

I went to watch a Japanese movie in the university called My sons. An old man, Mr. Asano, has two sons and a daughter. He is a widower living in Iwate Perfecture, a place where you can see the mountain and very quiet and clean. His sons live in Tokyo. Tetsu, the younger son, cannot hold a job for very long. However, moving steel rods seems to agree with him. He is promoted from a part-time worker to a temporary worker with health and injury insurance. He meets a deaf-mute girl in a steel production factory and falls in love with her.
Mr. Asano comes to Tokyo in winter time to visit his elder son. This son asks him to come and live with them in the small apartment, but Mr. Asano refuses and bravely says that he is not afraid of dying alone in the country. He attends the reunion for soldiers with his friends from the army, sings the war song with his old comrades.
He is too worried about his younger son, so he goes to visit him before he leaves for the country. The younger son introduces him to his girlfriend, buying him a fax machine so the deaf-mute girl can write short letters to him. Mr. Asano has doubts about his younger son's seriousness of marrying this girl, drink beer and sing the song from old times.
The generation gap between young and old is large, but it is essential for the young people to spend some time with the old people. They can teach us a lot of things. I like this film, it is very relevant and reminds me of my grandfather.

That's not the shape of my heart

We borrowed some DVD from White Angel's mum in the weekend. We watched Seven Swords first since it is a martial art movie. However, it is very different to the movies that we have watched, quite dark and sinister. I think it will be much better if we watch this particular movie on a big screen.
I read The Lord of the Silent, have not finished yet. Sethos is still alive! I can't believe it, but then again, he is the Master Criminal! The bad guy must still be alive, or is he the good guy?
Today I have spent a long time editing the introduction. I will leave the reference to last. Just discovered that some of my references disappeared from the EndNote file. >_< What.....the....*beep*. I will have to type them in again.
Maybe they are still there in the university file. I will check now.
Also watched the Korean TV program about the girl chef/doctor. It is quite interesting. Just wish that her life can go more smoothly. I guess the reason why it is a nice program is because her life is miserable.
Had a very weird dream about my friend who is studying her PhD in Scotland. She came back and lived in a hotel here for holiday, and we ate out. The hotel was very dark and old. Maybe I went to Scotland to visit her in the dream? ^_^ Cool. I don't even have to spend money buying an airplane ticket. Haha.
