Party party party food food food

Mum and I cooked Nasi Goreng last night for today's potluck party. I can't believe how much rice I added to the frying pan, it's just full of rice! The ingredients include onions, chillis, and garlic. Green and gold peppers were 99c so I got three of them, but mum said they are too expensive still. I noticed that capsicum were small. We had fun chopping all the ingredients up while Richard learns Chinese on the dinner table. He asked me to make a recording of bur pur mur fur for him, but some of them were still hard to distinguish.
Mum marinated pork and chicken before cooking them, otherwise they would be tasteless. I added diced pork first, then diced chicken, and in the end, I added peeled prawns. The capsicums didn't take long to cook so I added them after the meat, and put the fried eggs back into the mix. Mum put the rice into the frying pan and I had to use all my energy on stirring the food together.
Mum added curry powder and white pepper to Nasi Goreng to give it a good golden colour. It's got green and yellow from capsicum, red from prawns, and light brown for pork and chicken. I also made a vegetarian version with mushroom, pea, carrot and corn, and I didn't add curry powder to this one. Some people may not like curry and chilli so they can choose to eat this one instead.
Two mountains of food were stacked into serving dishes and I will bring them to the party in the Hamilton Car Club tonight at 7 p.m. I will go home after work to get ready.
Work was going well, but the experiment wasn't behaving the way we want it to be. It's challenging and I couldn't get it to work yesterday. I will probably have to try again. Discussion with my boss will certainly help so we can decide which direction we will take today. So far the results are encouraging, but some samples just didn't give any good results.
I don't know what's happening with dad. He's not communicating with us. Fuzzy is busy with her big project, and I hope I can spend some time with her when she completes this project. I will catch up with Lisa in the weekend since it's her birthday this Sunday. I will also go to Bronwyn's and mow the lawn with mum.
I am looking forward to this party, time to relax and have fun with Richard in the weekend.

Just the way I am

There never seems to be enough time for me to spend with my family and Richard. I guess work is a huge part of my life right now, but I wish that I have more time so I can do things that I want to do at home. There are so many things to do right now. The way to solve this problem is to organise my time better. I spent time texting to Richard in bed last night, but if I had more time, I would be more comfortable and relaxed when I was texting.
I was so tired when I got up because of late night texting. Mum came into the room, and I was still dreaming. My brain switched on immediately and the thought went to what to wear today. It was an amazing process of slow movements that sped up gradually until I was fully awake.
On the breakfast table, mum told me that the glass door that dad left close to the back wall almost fell during the storm. Mum secured it, but I think I will move it at some stage. It is a two persons' job. I want to find more recipes so I can cook more food and experiment, but I always feel tired after work. I just have to take it easy at the end of the day so I have energy to concentrate on something that I find enjoyable. I just love the colours, aroma, and the taste of good food. It doesn't have to be gourmet or fancy, just trying new things, putting spices into the hot pan will make the kitchen smells really good and make the cold home more like a house where people live in. A house that doesn't smell of food and fire is just not good enough.
I also want to do more writing, but lately I've been doing too much other things. I am glad that the Europe trip is planned. I have to pay for the train ticket and sort out what I am going to bring. Since we are going to Italy and France, perhaps I should try to learn basic French and Italian? At least learn how to read the menu and recipebooks? That will be very useful since we will inevitably dine out and when the menu comes, I can't tell whether it's beef or pork. I may order some raw meat by mistake like Mr. Bean!!! It will be hilarious, but I don't think it's a good idea to do that every time. It's just not done. I already have a German dictionary so that will definitely help my Europe trip.
I have to do some needlework to attach pockets to my clothing soon. I will have to draw some patterns and use the fabrics that I've already got at home. However, I think I will have to make a belt since it will become uncomfortable if I put the pocket in my bra. I also have to think about the fabric that I am going to use. It will have to absorb sweat and not irritate my skin since I have to wear it everyday.
I have to do more housework. Mum and I bought this new EasyOff Bam that I haven't tried out. The grime and the grease will just have to stay there for another day. Beware! I am watching you and you will soon be destroyed!
There are songs to play on the piano. I want to learn how to play chess properly. I also want to play a little bit of Mah-Jong. There's this butterfly cross-stitch that I started a long time ago that I want to finish. I want to read more books from the library.

Enjoy everything

This is an interesting blog about DIY people. It doesn't contain cloth patterns or how to knit. It's the real deal! People are interviewed about the craft and I think it's going to be very interesting. I will keep an eye on this website!
How am I doing for these few days? I have been running around doing lots of things, of course. Don't give me that look. I know it's only Tuesday, but I've been taking mum shopping on Saturday, spent most of Sunday doing housework because the weather wasn't so good. I am still thinking about taking that bike ride with Richard, but it's just not happening. The rain is like a very annoying tap that just won't turn off properly. I guess we will have to postpone mowing the lawn as well.
Dad is not writing e-mail to us from Taiwan and we don't know how he's doing at all, but it's also good because we don't know anything. He will definitely tell us when he comes back. If anything important happens, I know that he will not hesitate to contact us. However, I don't think it's likely. It's a real holiday for all of us if he doesn't write, I guess. It's warm there, and it's getting warmer here in New Zealand. He's seeing the relatives, catching up with friends and family while we hold the fort. Fuzzy is going to university and having two tests this week. I am working, mum is staying home and making food.
It was very romantic yesterday when I got Richard's long-stemed rose. I just couldn't cut the stem off! It's so beautiful. I don't want to ruin it.
Mum has given me an idea about what to cook on Friday. I will cook Chinese fried rice. It will not be too difficult with mum's help, and I will make two plates, one plate with meat and the other without. Monica is allergic to gluten so this will be an ideal meal for her. Vic is vegetarian so she can eat the rice without meat.
I am looking forward to Friday, Brooke Fraser, Europe and Christmas. I can't believe it's October already. Where did my year go? But looking back, I have done so much this year. I have fallen out of my crush (finally, why do I do that to myself?), met a nice guy, got a steady job and changed into another group, and I have become quieter and more reflective on my actions. I think I have changed somewhat this year.
I am looking forward to everything that comes my way because I can't wait now. I want to enjoy everything.

Cel Fisher

I am going to write more on my Zoospy story and it has a major development. I won't say anything about the story here since I will be posting my ideas and the transcript on the site above.
