Competitions

Today is the last day of A semester. First year engineering students are having a boatrace around lunch time. The weather is perfect. The boats are all looking good. Leaving the shore is the top-priority, and winning is important, but fun is also important. I wait until Fuzzy turns up and leave with her to the library.
She has completed her biology report. I check it for her, then hand the assignment to IJK block.
We leave for home. Rest in the afternoon and go to university to play capture the flag. However, I have only played ten minutes then leave to practice cello with UYO.
Today is Dragonboat festival. Hope mum will make some glutten rice, but she needs some incentives.
Happy Poet Day! Happy Dragonboat festival!

4 Bacteria

Grew four different kinds of bacteria and use ozone to inhibit their growth. Missed plating for one so the plates are pristine clean.
Practice cello after watching Shortland Street. Fuzzy is doing her biochemistry homework whole night. Mum said she finished at midnight.
Bought a bottle of hand lotion in Warehouse. Smells very good. I wash my hands regularly because I am dealing with bacteria. Hopefully this lotion will keep my hands moisturised. Met E on the way back to work. He has a biology test tonight.
The wild food festival went well. We ate goat, hare, rabbit, and swamp hen. Babies and kids came as well. They are very cute and loud.
Today is another big day. Capture the flag. First year boatrace. It is also the last day of the term.
Great! I have survived yet another half year of studying in university.

Day of reckoning

You have to learn to let go sometimes. Lost this week is telling the story about Boone dying and Jack letting him go. Flashback to Jack's wedding and he was unable to write his wedding vow. Wonder why he got married at all, but he gave an impromptu speech on the spot so he was forgiven.
Claire gives birth to a beautiful baby boy with Kate's help. Charlie and Jin are also there waiting. Shannon and Sayid date on the remote beachfront, only to find a dead brother when she comes back to the tribe.
It is never easy letting go, especially if you have such high standard like Jack. You should always work hard for your goal, but at the same time needs to know when to let go, otherwise you will be chasing something that is impossible to reach.
Fuzzy lost her cellphone. Someone stole it from her jacket. Feeling down at the moment. Wishing the weekend will come soon, but at the same time wishing that will be able to complete more experiments in this short week.
Should stay home and practice cello after the wild food festival at work. Hope the food is not too weird.
Very cold today. Has to wear wool hat and scarf. See J before going into the elevator. "It's cold today." He says, but he doesn't look cold at all. I suppose it's different for everybody.
Finally get the timesheet signed. Get myself a demonstrating job for next semester's first year biology. Cool.

Bride and Prejudice

Some people will call this chick flick, but truly, it is a remake of Pride and Prejudice with the Indian flavour. I have enjoyed it immensely.
I have found a very beautiful skirt with nice fabric and the price is just right. Most of the clothes in that shop are very expensive. Winter is almost half way through and many shops are on sale, but I have not seen anything like this one. Recently, also bought a throw. Poncho is in fashion but they are very dear! Just wish that they will be affordable and pretty.
Also found Dark Angel: Skin Game along with two books. They are in the bargain bin. Something to read for the cold winter evenings when I am not doing my homework.
Find out CB is not easy to grow on growth medium or in broths. They are just hard to grow altogether. That's such a shame. Should read some papers about how to grow them properly.
E is extracting DNA from blood. S is editing her PhD thesis. J is busy plating out milk. Same old same old. I am planning for tomorrow's experiment. Hopefully will be able to carry it out without too much trouble.
Should really practice cello hard before Friday. I have been slack lately.
Won volleyball with WESA United for the first time. Fuzzy was there. She must be our lucky star.
Bit low on energy. Should do more exercise so energy level will go up. The more you move, the less you are likely to get tired.

Queen's birthday

I agree with fuzzy about In Good Company. This movie is quite realistic. It is a story about the lives of two men. Sometimes their lives are very different, but sometimes their lives are very similar. It is a movie that you can watch then put into your pocket. It is small and light-hearted. It is a small jewel.
Queen's Birthday weekend has passed without too much drama. Dad and mum have done some gardening, and we went to Warehouse to look at some clothes for dad. It didn't fit. Dad bought a new lock for Mr.L's house.
I walked to Hamilton Gardens by myself yesterday. The weather was extremely fine. Winter has settled down in Hamilton so it was inevitable that the gardens were affected. However, camillia are still blooming.
"Category 6:The Day of Destruction" was not such a good disaster movie. After The Day after Tomorrow, I don't think this movie any more alarming or scarier than Category 6. Dysfunctional family. Retiring weatherman. The only good part was done by Secretary of Energy. I admire her effort.
Kate and Leopold was perhaps the other highlight of the weekend. It didn't rain! This morning the ice on car windows didn't help, but I am surviving in this cold weather. It is getting colder! It's not too bad.
