List of fabulous things

I am happy to say that the engagement party preparation is well under way, although we cannot resolve the weather issue. K and I went shopping for utensils in the weekend, and we went to buy food yesterday and today. It was stressful to look at the list because there are so many things to get and to prepare, but once that's done, it was exciting to go out there and find the ingredients in the supermarket.
We spent lunchtime today finding suitable balloons and ribbons to decorate the party. We've finally found red balloons and ribbons in David's Emporium after going to the supermarket and the Warehouse. You would think that the Red Shed would have some red stuff to put up for your party, but no, they are fresh out of red balloons.
To solve the weather problem, we've thought about putting up tarpaulin or marquee in the yard, but this means that people will have wet feet when they walk into the house. We decided to tidy up the garage a bit so people can hang out there. We've been blessed with thunderstorm this week. A screen at work had been destroyed by the power surge after lightening. Ken's gel stopped running because the power went out on the powerpack. I am lucky that the lightening didn't stop the bacteria growing in the evening. Hopefully, I can get better results this week.
People say that all the girls have imagined what their weddings will be like when they were little, but I can't say that I have done that. What I have done is looking at mum's wedding photos, and I don't think I have fantasies about having a fairytale wedding. I have a vision of what weddings are like, though, after going to other people's weddings in Taiwan. You are invited to the receptions most of the time, and apart from giving an red envelope to the couple at the entrance and signing your name, you can sit and relax and eat a nice banquet. You can steal a kiss from the bride at the end of the banquet before you leave, and you can have lots of tasty lollies as well. I remember that Fuzzy and I used to put colorful blankets on and pretend to be queens. It was difficult to walk with the crown on the lumpy bed. You have to walk slowly and hold your head steady.
What should my wedding look like? What should I wear? I am still thinking about this and ideas and inputs will be greatly accepted.
