Keeping my head down

I have been keeping my head down and writing my thesis so have been neglecting my blog for a while. Sorry to those people who reads my blog! I am still alive and still writing the thesis.
Watched Cheaper by the dozen 2 in theatre. It was very funny and can't help admiring the gorgeous Tom Welling. However, I believe that all the characters could be written a little bit deeper with more developments.
Borrowed some DVDs with Fuzzy to watch. Right now we have watched Kingdom of Heaven, Closer, and Assault on Precinct 13. Fuzzy and mum watched The Recruit together. I will catch up on that later. Kingdom of Heave was okay, but the DVD was broken in the middle of the war (between Saladin and Reynold) so didn't watch that part. >_< Too bad, but the second war between Balian and Saladin was really cool. I also liked when Balian was in his land Ibelin and he worked with the peasant, showing his human side. It was good.
Don't really understand Closer, though. It was a bit too deep for me, I guess. The modern relationships...a lot of insecurities.
Assault on Precinct 13: good action film. At some times I felt a bit helpless for the people dying.

First day back

Hello everyone! This is my first day back to 2006 and I have plunged straight back to working on my thesis in the morning. This should not be so hard as I turned on the computer and enter my password so I can log onto the network for the first time this year. So far so good and no trouble there. So exciting! However, the e-mail program does not remember my password and only lets me in upon the fifth try. Ya! I finally get through to my mailbox and there didn't seen to be so many junk mail present. Whew...
The deadline seems to so close yet I am still writing so slowly. I will just get back to it now. If you are still enjoying your holiday, then have fun. If you are back to work, then take care.
I have actually been to the beach in the holiday. ^_^ It was fun, and very warm.

Going to places where you have not been

I got myself a pair of brown shorts from Shanton for Christmas. Received one Christmas present: flowery scarf from white angel. It is such a cool present!
Fuzzy, white angel, lion and I were shopping on Boxing Day. There were so many people! I guess it was because of all the bargain. My closet is bulging with clothes so I didn't get any new ones, was thinking of getting some shorts but didn't see anything that I liked. Fuzzy got a skirt, a diary, and some pants. White Angel got a nice sun hat. We had lunch in Master Wok. It was very delicious. I miss Cantonese tea restruant.
Thesis writing is going slowly, will try to finish at least the method before going back, if can finish result will be better.
It is raining. >_< Can you believe that? However, it was very sunny and hot in the morning and now the temperature dropped and it is milder. Can't complain. Wish it will not rain tomorrow. Maybe going out?
We went driving the other day. It was gorgeous outside. We also had ice cream from the corner shop in a small unknown place. This excursion was fulfilled by the ice cream. Life is about going to places where you have not been, and I certainly have been doing that this holiday.

Xmas parties

I went to the BBQ for the uni laboratory yesterday. Everybody seems to be very happy and we talked about the season finale of Desperate Housewives and gossiped about people. The weather was good after we had the food so we all sat outside under the sun and the tree. One of the guy who did PhD before came to my professor's house to say hi. He has a five months old baby with him. Very cute.

Kong is the King

I don't remember the old King Kong movie. I don't remember the plot, the setting, or the characters, so when I sit in the movie theatre, the story is completely new to me. Kong is a huge creature, but it is gentle towards Ann Darrow. It can be brutal and violent, but it is also a herbivore (it eats branches). This movie shows the greed of the movie maker, and the pure love of Kong to a beautiful woman. It is a good movie.
I have read "The Curse of the Pharoah" in the weekend, have not finished. Crime detection and archeology are both facinating subjects. I would like to explore them all in my spare time.
I watched CSI: Miami on DVD on Sunday. Some episodes I have already watched on the television. Some I have not and these I went through. The weather was great on Sunday. We took a walk around the lake after dinner. We saw Fuzzy's high school English teacher.
NCIS season finale revealed that Kate is gunned down by Ari the terrorist. Gibbs must be furious and sad about the loss. We will find out what happens next year. I can't wait for it to come back.
It is nearly Christmas. We have also written several cards in the weekend to send to our friends in the city.
