Counted many bacteria plates until eyes are bunged. Still counting after morning tea because those plates are just annoying. Finally finish at lunchtime and photocopy it for supervisor to keep. Drive away very fast because really wants nothing to do with bacteria plates for a while, at least for the rest of today.
Look at the map several times before getting the his house. Living room looks very Chinese to me. Has caligraphy writing. They live in the only place where it's flat in that street in Dinsdale. Very wise choice of house.
Nagging thoughts before going on driving spree to his house that he may just be up in university. True to my gut feeling, his car is just parked in the same spot last week, where he always parked his car. Men are a creature of habits and women, too. I nearly always park my car somewhere in the carpark so it is easy to find. Ok. Car, checked, so he is definitely somewhere here in the vicinity.
He also gave me a clue last week about studying on the ground floor of the library. That's easy to track him down now, it's just a matter of self-restraint to NOT to distract him before the exam. I am weak, can't stop thinking about lunch so walked up to him to say: Shall we go have lunch?
Yes, he says. My head is going to explode. Headache is still haunting the sick man. Poor M. The flu just wouldn't go away. It's amazing that I am not that sick right now.
However, today I am very prepared. Lemon water, check. Kiwi fruit, high content in vitamin C, check. Persimon, normal fruit of some description, check. Yesterday I only had one small apple and that was pathetic defense against the big bag virus.
We exchange mobile numbers. I was going to ask him if he doesn't ask me. He still has only 1 cent on his mobile. Haha. So funny. We both have cold lunch: not very tasty. He has to finish his cheat sheets before the exam so we sit and talk about nothing important again.
Does he play basketball now? No. Don't have time and hasn't been to the gym for 2 months. So busy studying and doing homework. Poor M. Professors think you are a machine so you have homework due and tests on the same day. We are not machines, thank you very much, but they seem to pile everything on top of everything. So the students have to suffer.
His sister caught a cold, then he becomes sick. No time to sleep and rest because exams are coming so his conditions is not getting better any time. On top of that, the pressure of exams is mounting on the back. >_<
Talk about The Timetraveller's Wife. Then wish that he can timetravel and leave the virus behind him. Talking about can't study and watching a movie on the TV, but wouldn't that make his head hurt even more? Yes, he says, but that beats studying. He hates studying. Just wants to go working. Haha. Very funny.
We end our meeting by going our separate ways. He into the exam room and I get back to work. Get results from supervisor's labbook.
Hope everything will work out today for the citrate experiments. I doubt it will make much difference but it doesn't hurt to try.
