Newfound confidence

I have been on a date on Wednesday! Yay! I am looking forward to seeing James again. The weekend is coming up and we can hang out together.
I went to Naina's 21st birthday dinner last night. We ate at Sahara's Tent in town. The food was really nice, and the portion was just right so I can have desert. I ordered Feast of Greek and Turkish Delight ice cream. The ice cream was very big! I got a scarf from Naina, which is a late birthday present. We think alike. I got her a gray wool scarf as well.
Adam, Jo and James took me to Lone Star to have dinner. James is a real nice gentleman, who likes reading and gaming. We exchanged phone numbers at the end of the date.
I am so happy about the new house, too. Just needs to clean it up this weekend, and it may prove to be very physically demanding. Cleaning must be done, though. The new house needs tender loving care, and nobody else would do it but the people living in it.
I've been invited to MQ's housewarming party on Sunday, and have to do some work here in Hillcrest as well. Everything is going smoothly at work. The experiments are going well, and I am looking forward to the weekend.
The weather looks miserable, but who cares. The rain will come, but I can always stay inside my lovely home.

My blog

Since I blog in English on wretch, there's not much point writing on this blog anymore. However, I want to blog in Chinese on wretch and in English here.
The computer was down at home before because I was moving, but since it is set up again, I will blog in English here and blog in Chinese on wretch again soon.

Raining Thursday happy thoughts

Team New Zealand has won the Louis Vitton Cup this morning, beating the Italian team 5-nil. I have been watching the race on television and seeing all the actions on water. Thank God we moved the television back, otherwise, we will be so bored.
The lawyers still haven't called us yet so we haven't moved into the new place. We ended up playing poker cards before good TV comes on. I had to work late because there's something wrong with the power pack so I couldn't run my protein gel properly. However, the problem was solved by using another power pack.
There's good news today. Erik and Ai have succeeded in their experiment so I will have no trouble to carry out the next steps. The samples still need to be analysed further elsewhere, but I am sure that they will work fine. I will have lots to do! There was lots of cheers and hugging and handshakes. We are all smiling.
It has been raining today, and the temperature has dropped considerably. Walking from the store back to my lab, I was actually quite cold.
Just hope that we can move tomorrow and not next week. There's a pub crawl and lunch to send away our boss tomorrow. I love Indian food! I am glad that we are having lunch there.

Queen's Birthday weekend

We didn't end up moving on Friday. Due to mortgage trouble, the person buying our house didn't pay us so we couldn't pay the person who we are buying the house from. I have one day annual leave and not much moving to do, and Queen's Birthday weekend went like a breeze.
MQ came to visit us in the almost empty house, then An-chi came to visit us as well. We have moved the fridge and washing machine away so mum had to wash our clothes in our friend's house.
The weather had been unpredictable in the weekend. I went out walking while bored and felt quite cold. The dog was not barking at me or chasing me when I walked in front of it. Ya! I had past through its territory savely again.
Fuzzy has three exams this semester so have to study a lot. I am trying not to disturb her. I drove to work to get my novels back so I had something to do in the evening.
We watched Meet the Parents, Country Calendar, Heroes and Bones during the long weekend. I love Heroes! The storyline is fresh and there's only one episode left. I hope the world doesn't blow up and Sylar will just die! He's so bad, but I know they will not kill him because he is really interesting. He's also quite cute for a baddie. All the characters are coming together in New York right now, and Lindderman is dead. Nathan has won the election because Micah voted electronically for him. Sylar has killed Ted, and he may kill Candice the shapeshifter next. The future is looking bleak at the moment.
This week's country calendar is about a farmer who does cart horse racing. It's not all about farming in this episode, mostly about the horses.
Apart from that, I have also brought back the poker cards because life without most of my furnitures and clothes is just too bored. I hope that the lawyers will call sooner than Friday so we can move into the new place and get my things back to order again.

Rambling

I am looking forward to watch Pirates of the Carribean 3 tomorrow night. My workmate asked her husband today whether it's ok for me to tag along to the movie in the new theatre. She reckons that it's better to watch this movie in the large cinema, just opened in Chartwell at the blockbuster price than watching the movie in the old cinema. I have invited the other two workmates to come along with me, and may get more tomorrow if they decided to come.
By the time I came home, Fuzzyslowmo was doing her homework, and she may come to watch the movie in the evening with us as well. Ya! I am so happy that it's finally Friday. This week has been really long. I hadn't managed to make new proteins this week, and the other project was not going so well, either.
The highlight of the week must had been playing volleyball with our group members. It was so much fun! We were getting better at setting up the ball for our team to get across the net. Sometimes, it's still hard to get the ball high enough to cross the net, and it was very difficult not to touch the net and put the volleyball across at the same time. Servicing the ball over the net was difficult enough for me, sometimes, I just have to imagine no one was watching.
Erik called for an extra practice session today. He must have been really bored this lunchtime. I am glad that I got the chance to practice, but felt so tired in the afternoon. I had to do physical work on a Friday! I hope that the outcome will be better this time. All will be revealed next Wednesday.
I got Jo's e-mail from Scotland yesterday. It's so good to hear from her. I am glad that she has found a new flatmate, because she sounds like she doesn't really like the old one.
This whole movie-going thing is getting to me a little bit right now. I had just refused to ask someone at work, but I just can't stand watching a movie with him. It's not a crime, is it? I know that this question will go unanswered. My workmate made a suggestion of me asking this person out on a date for the movie. Gosh! I can't imagine it. I am dreading it at the moment.
Come to think of the matter of the heart, I know that even though I am sad about the Erik situation, but I can live with that. I can't live with being with someone I don't want to be with, though.
I am so glad that I can focus on moving and working, and not choosing a person to be with. It's just a bit too much for me to handle right now.
When the right person comes along, it will not be so difficult to me. I believe that's what happened last time when I met my ex, and I sincerely hope that it will happen to me again. On second thought, maybe it's not so bad that it hasn't happened to me yet. I will have to worry about another person if it does.
