Going to places where you have not been

I got myself a pair of brown shorts from Shanton for Christmas. Received one Christmas present: flowery scarf from white angel. It is such a cool present!
Fuzzy, white angel, lion and I were shopping on Boxing Day. There were so many people! I guess it was because of all the bargain. My closet is bulging with clothes so I didn't get any new ones, was thinking of getting some shorts but didn't see anything that I liked. Fuzzy got a skirt, a diary, and some pants. White Angel got a nice sun hat. We had lunch in Master Wok. It was very delicious. I miss Cantonese tea restruant.
Thesis writing is going slowly, will try to finish at least the method before going back, if can finish result will be better.
It is raining. >_< Can you believe that? However, it was very sunny and hot in the morning and now the temperature dropped and it is milder. Can't complain. Wish it will not rain tomorrow. Maybe going out?
We went driving the other day. It was gorgeous outside. We also had ice cream from the corner shop in a small unknown place. This excursion was fulfilled by the ice cream. Life is about going to places where you have not been, and I certainly have been doing that this holiday.

Xmas parties

I went to the BBQ for the uni laboratory yesterday. Everybody seems to be very happy and we talked about the season finale of Desperate Housewives and gossiped about people. The weather was good after we had the food so we all sat outside under the sun and the tree. One of the guy who did PhD before came to my professor's house to say hi. He has a five months old baby with him. Very cute.

Kong is the King

I don't remember the old King Kong movie. I don't remember the plot, the setting, or the characters, so when I sit in the movie theatre, the story is completely new to me. Kong is a huge creature, but it is gentle towards Ann Darrow. It can be brutal and violent, but it is also a herbivore (it eats branches). This movie shows the greed of the movie maker, and the pure love of Kong to a beautiful woman. It is a good movie.
I have read "The Curse of the Pharoah" in the weekend, have not finished. Crime detection and archeology are both facinating subjects. I would like to explore them all in my spare time.
I watched CSI: Miami on DVD on Sunday. Some episodes I have already watched on the television. Some I have not and these I went through. The weather was great on Sunday. We took a walk around the lake after dinner. We saw Fuzzy's high school English teacher.
NCIS season finale revealed that Kate is gunned down by Ari the terrorist. Gibbs must be furious and sad about the loss. We will find out what happens next year. I can't wait for it to come back.
It is nearly Christmas. We have also written several cards in the weekend to send to our friends in the city.

What should I buy for Christmas?

That is the ultimate question, isn't it? What should I buy for my sister? What should I buy for my parents? Should I send gifts to my friends? I think there are some criterias that I can go through below.
This gift must be useful. I don't want to send a gift to other people that they will just leave standing in a corner and collecting dust. I want them to be able to use it and enjoy it.
The gift must make the recipent happy. That's the point of send other people gift, isn't it? If it cannot make the other's life better and make the recipent happy, then there's no point sending the gift.
I am still no where near deciding what to send to my sisters and my parents. Guess I will just have to go to the shopping mall and get some ideas there. Good luck to all the other shoppers.

BBQ

I finished reading The Mummy Case by Elizabeth Peters. It is an interesting novel. It had been raining on and off this week. Just hope that the sun will come out and stay out for us.
In the weekend, I have been invited to a BBQ at my workmate's house. We get to see his new baby. He is very cute and quiet. We talk about trademe, how convenient it is from my workmate's own experience. We also talked about the upcoming U2 concert. The ticket is on sale this morning. Hope the people who didn't get the ticket for the last concert will be able to get ticket this time. However, I am not too worried because I am not such a big fan of U2. I am more than happy just listening to their songs on the radio. It is good enough for me. Honestly speaking, I don't think I will ever be tempted to go to a concert at all. I am more inclined to go to classical music concert, though.
Feeling very full after the BBQ. It is very good to relax in the weekend. Received an e-mail from friend who is studying in Scotland. She has her Christmas and New Year all planned out. Wish that she is having a nice time there. Lucky her, she has seen her first snow there already.
Mum will send a Christmas card to aunt. We have not heard from her for a long time. Wish everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
